For My Black Girls!

It’s about time someone cleared the air and really stood up for Black American Girl’s. And that’s exactly what filmmaker Aiesha Turman attempts to do in her latest documentary “The Black Girl Project.”



The documentary discusses the portrayal of black girls in the media and seeks to present US as the complex beings that WE are; far from the stereotypical representations that we see in pop culture.


The film is set to premiere in New York on August 27th and will definitely be added to my “must see” list.
